Where to begin??

Well, a lot has happened since the last time I blogged. First of all I have a job now yay me!  Its at Utah Cancer Specialists. I have now worked there for a year.  I am very blessed to meet the people I meet each day.  A few of the people have changed my life and the way I look at things.

Its amazing how people can come into your life an make such a huge impact on it. There is a saying I like that I found on facebook that sums it right up.  Photo: So true...

Christmas was great this year we had 3 parties that the kids and I went to.  The first one was the Burke Christmas party. It was on Sat, December 22, 2012  It was a lot of fun.  We had a catered dinner that Aunt Gina had organized and it was so so good.  The kids had a real surprise that night when Santa Clause showed up with his red sack.  Pictures to come...
The second party was Sun, December 23, 2012 the Staley Christmas party and soup was on the menu.  The taco soup was my fav.  The kids had a race with tootsie rolls to see who could fill the bowl the fastest with a spoon.  The adults then played a poem and passed around presents.
The last one was Christmas day and it was at the Hastings family party that I was invited to.  They made yummy ham.  Thank you for inviting me I appreciate it.

The kids had a great Christmas.  Austin received a Helo Helicopter, Santa was so smart to pick that up for him.  Josh received a Dream Light penguin.  Now he wont be scared of the dark anymore. The gift they received together was an Xbox 360 with the Skylanders game.

I am so thankful for everything I have recieved in my life and I am so blessed to have 2 amzing boys I love them with everything I have and would anything for them.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Love,

Evelyn, Austin, and Joshua

Progress so far...

Ok so the weather is being difficult so I have not been able to walk but I have joined a water aerobics class I love it!  Its every Tuesday and Thursday at 8pm.  My instructor is amazing and really pushes you to do your best!! It took me awhile to find a place that was affordable and someone that I really liked.  I started last week on Tuesday and have really enjoyed it so far.  I can also feel that my muscles are being worked I have not felt this good in so long.  I just had to update you on that I do plan on still walking my laps on mon, wed and fridays.
now that I have a routine set in place i need to work on my eating habits. I am so far very happy with what i have set in place so far now its down to pushing my self to do it.

Austin and Josh are doing great in school! Austin is getting very good grades I am so proud of him he tries so hard and he is very very good at math.  His reading is doing lots better and he will even try to read to me when ever and where ever he can.  Josh is still struggling with colors we had his eyes checked for color blindness but he is not color blind we have no clue why he wont get his colors down.  He can count like crazy he will count everything and he also knows his ABC's really well.  so I guess one hiccup is not bad.  I have bought him some books about colors and we talk about colors all the time so hopefully he will just get it one day.

thats all for now

Intervention on my-self!

Ok, I have been talking and talking and talking about losing weight but doing nothing about it.  Last week I went to my psudotumor doctor and they weighed me and my eyes just about popped out of my head I had gained another 10 pounds.  I have to do something and quick!  I do not want to be sick the rest of my life because I gained more weight my sudotumor is swelling again.  In order to get rid of the sudotumor and get off the pills is to lose weight.  I am embarrassed to put how much I weigh out for the world to see but the only way I am going to change is if I stop what I am doing and get the support I need to be successful at this.

Current weight 234 pounds
weight before pregnancy's 160 pounds

My goal weight is to get back down the the 160 thats is my long term goal.  My short term goal is to get down to 200.

Today I started walking.  I took the boys to the park and let them play and I walked 10 laps around the double tennis courts.  I plan on doing this every other day for 4 weeks. I am also going to go swimming with the boys they love to go swimming and I can watch them and tread water. I will be weighing in every other week so I dont go insane about not losing anything.

After 4 weeks I will bump the laps up to 15-20 not sure yet cause I need to see how I will feel.  I would like to do the 20 laps though.

Any support or ideas of how to help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Evelyn

Oh hey look a new post!!!!!

I know its been a long time since the last time I have posted anything.  My life has been pretty crazy and I really was not up to posting anything.  Here I am though typing away.... As many of you may already know I graduated from Stevens Henager with my Associates Degree in Medical Assisting.  I will actually get to walk in May, with my sister Brittanie, who also just recently graduated.  I am very excited for that!!  I am currently looking for a job still and I am very eager to put my training to use.  Its just that most company's want you to have at least a year job experience before they want to hire you.  It is very frustrating because I know if they just let me show them I can do the job and that I am a reliable employee that will be an asset to the team if they just put me to work.

So this is what I have been doing since I have been staying home with my kids.  We are big into visiting The Wild Child http://www.thewildchildut.com/  or  http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Wild-Child/132285836811366   They are great it is a big enough place that the kids can run and get their energy out and small enough that I can keep my eye on them all the time. Austin and Josh love it.

I had and SEP conference with Austins teacher today and he is doing great!! I am so proud of his progress that he is making in school.  The only thing Austin needs to work on is he wants that one on one attention with his teachers so he will pretend that he dose not know what he is doing when he is doing his work in class which makes him stay in for recess but its kinda funny when that recess bell rings how fast his work gets done and able to go play. My favorite thing that Austin brings home from school that he has learned at the end of the day the teachers ask if any of the kids have a compliment or something they liked doing that day and when he comes home he always says to me Mom I have a compliment for you and I ask him what that is and he goes I love you because you play games with me.  It makes me feel so good when he dose stuff like that.

Joshua is also doing well in school. His speech is accelerating and is making real progress.  I can now understand what he is saying.  Yes I am finally potty training him I have been slacking on that very badly but like I said its been crazy lately.  Josh's favorite thing to do is to get his Nemo blanket and climb on your lap and read a book.  Sometimes you do not even have to read he just likes to point things out and he tells you his own story you may not understand but its way cute when he dose this.

As February approaches I have been thinking what Love means to me.  The only thing that runs deep in my heart is my family.  I love them so much! Without the people in my life that I have today I would be so lost without them.  I would do anything for my boys they are the one thing in my life that wakes me up and pushes me each and everyday to be the best person, mom that I can be.

ok weird post but hey I tried lol

School Updates!

Wow time flys by when you are busy that is for sure!  I have now finished school! Yay me it took me from January 2009 to August 31, 2010 to do it all.  I still however have to take my Medical Assistant test to become a full Medical Assistant.  I do that on my own time though.  I am happy to be done with school and happy to be home with my kids again but I do miss being out of the house and the social aspect of school. I will officially walk in May with all of my fellow graduates.  Its funny that I have to wait so long to actually get to wear my cap and gown.  So right now I am looking for a job that will work me during the time the kids are in school so I can be home with them at night.

Speaking of the kids Austin is doing GREAT in school I am so proud of his progress this year! Compared to last year it is easier to get him up and he no longer cry's at school he used to do that all the time and now he goes without tears good job Austin! He dose says that "why do i have to do to school," and "I went to school yesterday I don't need to go again"  He makes me laugh and I look forward to getting him off the bus when he comes home cause he is so excited to tell me about his day.

Josh has started preschool and is doing ok so far it is an adjustment. He likes to do the puzzles at school and singing time is his favorite.  They are also helping me potty train him so that helps a lot we are very close to getting him there he runs to the potty on his own but it has to be his idea if you suggest it he gets mad and cry's and dose not want to go. If you have any ideas let me know we are doing the sticker chart and tickets for going potty which he gets a prize when he gets so many. He still refused to do #2 on the potty though. UGH.

We went to the Zoo yesterday for my nephews Ethan and Benjamin's Birthday.   All I have to say is wow they have sent a lot of animals away for the construction of the new bear facility.  I love the zoo and it has aways been fun I can't wait for the animals to come back and for them to be finished cause it will be so neat to see everything back again. The Kids had a great time celebrating with there cousins.  We also went to build a bear and they got new bears Austin named his Trusty and Josh named his Buzz puppy.
Pictures are going to be on later cause i still have to upload them.
